Insanity The Asylum Review Day 3 Back To Core

Insanity The Asylum Review Day 3 Back To Core

Insanity The Asylum Review

J – E – L – L – O!

Today’s review is my workout of Insanity: The Asylum Day 3 Back to Core and JELLO is exactly how I feel!
If you are under the assumption that you have to lift weights to get results in building muscle and to get a full workout, you’re wrong, oooohh sooo wrong! You can get AMAZING results by using bands and you’re own body – ISOMetric workouts – this actually uses your own body’s weight & strength. This was a revolutionary method to building strength, muscle, losing/gaining weight, and toning when it was first introduced. Today, few people really use this, however, Insanity, The Asylum takes full advantage of this amazing tool you can take with you anywhere you go to create the body you want without a lot of weights and space.

So what is Back to Core? As with the other Asylum videos, it’s an all over/cross-training workout. This will workout your legs – yep – every bit including muscles you didn’t know existed, your arms (finally get rid of that waddle!), your obliques (get a rockin’ hour glass figure and say goodbye to the muffin top & love handles), abs (hello 8 pack), with a FOCUS on the back. The back is OFTEN overlooked in working out but, it is one of your most important parts of your body to strengthen for proper health and wellness. This video focuses on the back while working out everything else, yeah, I think my toes and hair folicles are tired too.

It’s now been about 2 hours since my workout and cool down …. I am totally wiped yet feel amazing! I feel really good! My muscles got a great workout and I feel like I can breathe better, I can move better, and I feel healthier.

If you want a challenge and keep active with intense levels of movements throughout a workout, Insanity: The Asylum is a fantastic pairing with those goals.

What are you doing to exercise this hot summer? Comment below, share with me :-) and remember to share with others who might be interested in Asylum before they buy.

Daily Health Tip: Breathing

Hey everyone!
Quick tip for exercising!
Remember to breeeeathe!
Breathing properly during a workout will improve your recover period because it allows oxygen to flow to your muscles during your muscles. This prevents as much lactic acid build up which causes soreness at post workout.
In addition, breathing during the workout will improve your results because your muscles will have time to recover DURING the workout so they can start building right away AND you can start to burn more calories by simply breeeathing properly.
So don’t hold your breath! Take deep breaths in and exhaaaaale out! This is critical at cool down as well. Doing this during a cooling down period will enable you to focus on lower your heart rate back to normal slowly, focusing your mind, and bringing clarity to your day.
To your success!

What I Learned from the Asparagus Band

HELLO!!!

As we approach the end of the year, I see so many people preparing for the holidays and the New Year. With the New Year come’s New Year Resolutions, or promises to yourself for activities you want to accomplish. I’m included in this group of people! Hustling and bustling and taking time to recap my past year then look forward to the next.

Part of my New Year Resolution, or Promise is to gain 15 pounds of lean muscle and MAINTAIN IT! Instead of waiting to begin January 1st, I started it this week! It feels great!!

Starting ANYTHING feels amazing! As I started my new fitness JennySung.com New Years Resolutionsroutine towards accomplishing my goal, my Promise, I am reminded that MANY, MANY people will make it a goal to get fit next year.

Here is something that will serve you better than any other tip you’ll probably get and it comes from an asparagus band. You know the rubber bands that are tightly keeping the asparagus together at the grocery stores? Those bands are on tight! When you take them off, they instantly snap back into place. There is little room for stretching. However, if you slowly stretch them, little by little and as they warm to room temperature, you’ll find they’ll begin to loosen. You can learn a lot from these little bands in creating better fitness experiences.

Always be sure to warm up your muscles before working them. For example, if you plan to workout your arms and shoulders today, be sure to keep the heart pumping to put oxygen to those muscles with exercises like running in place, jumping jacks, and more. When the warm up (at least 3-5 minutes) is complete take the next 2-5 minutes to stretch those muscles. NEVER attempt to stretch COLD muscles. Doing so can cause pain & injury!

Here is an activity most people fail to complete at the END of a workout, it’s a cool down period of stretching. Cooling down the body SLOWLY brings the heart rate back down to normal. The stretching releases the lactic acid that forms and builds during the workout AND rushes necessary oxygen BACK to the muscles that have been depleted during the workout.  These activities in your body will help prevent soreness at post-workout so you’ll be ready to get back to it tomorrow!

Remember to have a high quality, post-workout nutrition and protein shake to put back in the nutrients you used and feed your muscles so they can properly recover throughout the day; heck, throw some of that asparagus into your shake! (If you don’t have an optimal post workout recovery shake, let me know, I’d be happy to discuss with you!)
